Through the “QUEST Recovering Businesses”, funded by Kerk in Actie in 2020, Lutheran World Federation (LWF) started QUEST Iraq in Kurdistan Region to support 15-20 SMEs. With this support, LWF aims to recover and expand the SME’s services and product lines, as well as contribute to creating hundreds of jobs in the province of Duhok.
The objective of QUEST Iraq is to contribute to a long-term sustainable social-economic recovery of people and communities hit by disasters through recreating sustainable sources of income by recreating employment through these SMEs among a mix of refugees, displaced, and residents.
The Program provides capital to SMEs and entrepreneurs besides business development support, technical assistance, technical & vocational training, and social cohesion and inclusion initiatives to spur the social impact at personal, interpersonal, and community levels.
